CADOGAN FIREFLY The Horsemans’s Year 1952 Edition, Edited by W. E. Lyon.
Children and their Ponies
by Horace Smith

“ Ireland, pre-war, was not so well known for show ponies as Wales and Devon were when Mrs Oscar Muntz had that beautiful pony sire called Love Song, which produced such lovely pre-war noted show ponies, one in particular, Tit Willow, a dark bay, 13-2 hands, also CADIGAN FIREFLY, a 13-2 hands, dark bay gelding, (said to have been bred by Mrs Howard), the property of The Hon. Noreen Stoner, daughter of Lady Camoys, which was Champion at Olympia, and another Champion was Cadogan Brunette, a beautiful dark brown mare, 14-2 hands ; Fairey, a chestnut mare, 13-2 hands, owned by The hon. Noreen Stoner ; Royal Star, owned by Mrs David Bourne, and later owned by The Hon. Noreen Stonor ; the late Mrs Durrant’s pony Astronomy, which the late Mr. Douglas Phillip’s daughter always rode side-saddle, and which won her class in the 14-2 hands at Olympia and afterwards the Championship.”
