KANO GSB (Vol. 20 p.702) a brown colt, foaled in 1900 and bred by Mr T. C. Clark. In 1906 Kano exhibited by The Otter Vale Stud, Vean Ottery, Ottery St Mary, Devonshire, won a King’s Premium of £150 offered by The Royal Commission on Horse-breeding. He stood at Carlisle and travelled Penrith and District, (he was also placed 1st Reserve for his home District.)  In 1907 he won another King’s Premium for £150, standing at Ottery St Mary, he travelled Exeter, Honiton, Axminster and District.   1908 saw him as 2nd Reserve and being noted for, ‘prize winning produce’ in 1908 and 1909.  He was 3rd Reserve in 1909. In 1912 and 1913 Kano was exhibited at the London Show of The Hunters’ Improvement and National Light Horse Breeding Society by Thomas Yelverton and Sons, The Otter Vale Stud, Vean Ottery, Ottery St. Mary, Devonshire and awarded Premiums for Devon, with 25 Free Nominations in 1913.

Kano was a Premium and Registered stallion, awarded King’s Premiums in 1918,1919,1920 or 21 by the Board of Agriculture for Scotland, and listed in :-
Premium and Registered Stallions recognised under the Horse-breeding schemes of the Royal Commission on Horse-breeding, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the War Office, the Board of Agriculture for Scotland , the Royal Agricultural Society of England, and the Hunters’ Improvement and National Light Horse Breeding Society, or registered in the Hunter Stud Book (1921-1950).
