The Prince of Wales, K.G., York House, St. James Palace, London S.W., whose Stud was at Tor Royal, Princetown, Devon.

He was also sire of Sahban (an Arab) and Jollity II foaled in 1926

The epic chariot race from the first film, ‘Ben-Hur’ (based on a novel written in 1880 by Lewis Wallace), were drawn by Arabians named Aldebaran, Antares, Atair and Rigel.

Amida, chestnut
(Volume 2 The Arab Horse Society, page 100) Bred at the Crabbet Stud in 1913 had in 1919 a chestnut colt named Aldebar(an) by Dwarka, then returned to the Crabbet Stud, to be replaced by Rangha (Chestnut mare) also bred at the Crabbet Stud in 1911, (Rangha had in 1921 a bay filly Karoosha, by Dwarka.) Dwarka died in 1921.

In 1922 Rangha produced a chestnut filly by Sea Bath, then in 1923 she was barren to Aldebar(an). Thereafter Rangha produced in 1924 a chestnut filly, Myra by Aldebar(an) and in 1925 and 1926 two chestnut fillies by Aldebar(an). In 1928 a chestnut colt and 1929 another chestnut colt, Barkis by Aldebar(an). All bred by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales. Rangha was sold to Mr. H.V.M. Clark, and Aldebaran was exported to Canada in 1930 when Tor Royal was disbanded.

Dwarka
(imported, Volume1 of the The Arab Horse Society, page 39), A Kehailan, bred in the Arabian Desert by the Anazeh; imported into India was a winner of events on the flat. Purchased from Mrs. Atkinson, who obtained him from Major Gen. Ralph Broome, Director of Remounts, India. Later he was acquired by the Crabbet Stud and about 1914 arrived at Tor Royal where he died in 1921. Dwarka was registered as Polo and Riding Pony Stallion Number 217.
