Asterope was sold by Mrs Muntz to, “G. Cornish,” at an unknown date, presumably after 1938 or indeed in, “ the sale,” at Foxhams in 1938.

There is an interesting mention of an, “Asterope,” in the Supplement to Volume 29 of The National Pony Society, under Polo Pony Mares.
She is mentioned as the dam of, “11253 Pierre Etiolee,” (G.S.B.), bay, foaled 1952; sire Roc du Diable (G.S.B.); dam Asterope (G.S.B.) Owner Miss M. de Beaumont. Breeder The Count Chambure.

Asterope would have been trained as a, “polo pony” and she would have been 18 years old in 1952, so it is more than possible she was a polo playing pony, and used as a mare later in life.
