First 5317 LOVE SHAFT Owner Capt .J.D. Gouldsmith Love Song 1065
The National Pony Society’s Silver Medal for the best Polo Pony exhibited was awarded to Capt. J.D. Gouldsmith’s 5317 Love Shaft

Love Shaft was foaled in 1922 and definitely at Foxhams for two or three years. She was then owned by Capt. J. D. Gouldsmith, who was a well known polo player. He had bought ponies from Mrs Muntz before, notably Black Pearl, (1904) and Star Ruby II.
It seems he may have trained Love Shaft himself, which in the circumstances would not be unusual, on the other hand she may still have been trained by Mrs Muntz.
