FAIRYLAND (was Fairy Land) a brown filly foaled in July 1906 and bred by Miss Imogen Mary Collier. Entered by her breeder in the Supplement for 1909, (to the Polo and Riding Pony Society’s, Volume 11), she was measured in July 1909 at eleven hands.
Her sire was the, “Fell stallion, The Mikado“, whilst her dam Fairy Tale was an, “Unregistered Grey Dartmoor Pony”, eleven hands high whose dam was also grey and eleven hands high.
From an interview in 1935, ” . . . she is loath to abandon the idea that there is room for a useful cross with high-class ponies rather nearer to the native pony than our pure thoroughbred. Living as Mrs Muntz does in what is essentially a pony county and so near to Dartmoor, it is only natural that she should from time to time select a wild pony of exceptional shape and quality . . . .”

Fairyland was registered in the, “Dartmoor Pony Section,” of Volume 16 and 17, of The National Pony Society, (1919-1921).

Her recorded foals were:
1911 – Fairy Queen II by King Cup (Produce previous to 1914 stallion King Cup)
1917 – Darling of the Gods stallion Feysul
1919 – Good Fairy stallion Silver Bullet
(1920 Registered as Dartmoor Mare number 3745)
1921 – Pixie by Shetland stallion Rex of Arlington ( ” . . . . riding ponies for children . . . .” In this latter connection, Mrs. Muntz thinks the Dartmoor and Shetland cross makes the child’s ideal pony. . . )
1926 – 5618 Foxhams Blue Fairy by a Dartmoor Pony
