The Council of The Polo and Riding Pony Society decided in June 1907 to conduct a survey, “To consider the desirability of establishing a Record of the Performances of Polo-Bred Ponies in the Game.” A list of forty playing ponies was duly compiled, Midsummer Night, (Dream’s 1901 foal), was included in this list. All forty ponies, played on the grounds of recognised polo clubs, including . . . North Devon, and Plymouth . . . .(Plymouth and North Devon were the two Grounds noted for Midsummer Night.)
