1929 – Grey filly by Dartmoor pony

Foxhams Mistor ran on the moor, she must have been purchased, or sold by Mrs Muntz as she has two brands “R” and “I M”. She was said to have been bought in 1929, although measured in 1930.
It is said, “that the mares are rounded up in September, and any fillies suitable for breeding are turned back on to the moor with their dams.”
(Perhaps this explains the 1929 Grey filly, who may have had potential, provoking the registration of Foxhams Mistor, in 1930. On Dartmoor all unbranded ponies which are to stay on the moor, are branded.)

Notes:
Great Mis Tor (a bare rocky hill) is a distinctive feature on Dartmoor
