GLORY was a chestnut mare, fourteen and a half hands high and foaled in 1907.
At the Devon County Agricultural Show, held in Plymouth from May 14th to 16th, 1912, in a class for Mares or Geldings, (not exceeding 14.2 h.h., suitable for playing polo,) there were sixteen entries, Glory owned by Captain W.E. Davies won third prize.
In 1911 and 1912 she played polo at Plymouth Polo Club and at Ranelagh in 1914, it is thought she was bred by Miss Tyrell, of Ivy Cot, Sidmouth, Devon and sold to Captain Davies in 1911.
Glory was inspected by Captain F.A. Gill, at Ranelagh Club, Barnes for admission to the Approved Mare Register, as the property of Mrs Joseph Oscar Muntz. Details of this Register appeared in Volume 16 & 17 of The National Pony Society, covering the years 1919-1921, “. For the convenience of Breeders who possess mares who do not comply with the Stud Book Conditions . . . the following rule has been made . . . a mare of polo pony type, is after careful inspection and veterinary examination accepted for the register ” Glory was entered on page twenty six.

1921:
– 1st prize Brentor and Lydford, August 1st

1922:
– London Show of The National Pony Society, Class 11 Approved Brood Mares (accepted in the Society’s Approved Mare Register and served in 1921 by an entered sire, with foal at foot or to foal in 1922)
– 2nd prize Bath and West, (Polo Mare) Silver Medal of The National Pony Society

1923:
– 2nd prize, Devon County Agricultural Show, Bideford May 29th, 30th, and 31st, (Brood Mares not exceeding 15 h.h.)

1924:
– 2nd prize, Bath Horse Show September 3rd and 4th, (Heavy Weight Polo Ponies. Brood Mares Suitable to breed polo ponies, in foal or with foal at foot. Height not exceeding 15 h.h. – 12 entries)

1928:
– 2nd prize, Bath and West and Southern Counties Show at Dorchester, May 22nd to 26th, (Polo and Riding Pony Mare not exceeding 15 hands in foal or with foal at foot. – 14 entries)

In 1928 Glory was entered into the, “dam group” competition at The National Pony Society’s London Show, there were thirteen groups.
