Other Stallions

Imogen Collier, (later Mrs J. Oscar Muntz), was very careful with her choice of stallions from the very beginning.
In the early days she often chose thoroughbreds, (who were ‘Hunter’ sires), such as Battlement or Rockaway.
As Imogen became more interested in the breeding of polo ponies, Sir John Barker was a great influence and his thoroughbred stallion Arthur D, sired her principle stallion Arthur’s Pride.
There were other stallions, such as The Mikado (Fell) and Admiral Togo (Dartmoor), used in the search for the, ‘Polo and Riding Pony’, type.
Later Premium and Registered stallions such as the thoroughbred, Kano or Marzio were chosen.
