There is a photograph of Mrs Muntz riding Boating Song sidesaddle, (she always rode sidesaddle, with a double bridle), winning second prize at Launceston, in a Hack Class, in 1936
He also won a First at Changford in the same year.
Boating Song is one of the horses best known to the family. My father and mother rode him in 1938 before they got married. My father said of all the horses he had ridden Boating Song had the, “best mouth.”
There are photographs of my mother riding with Mrs Muntz, (who was on Love Song), on Dartmoor.
As I understand it Boating Song, was at Foxhams from 1931 to 1938/9 when he was sold to a gentleman as a hack.
