She was a, “brood mare,” at Foxhams from 1910 to 1913 before being entered by her owner Miss Imogen Mary Collier at Totnes, in the Devon County Show of 1914, (from 19th-21st May), where she won a, “first prize”.

Pink May is definitely a Dartmoor pony, but at this time Miss Collier is more interested in breeding for Polo and Riding, than conserving Dartmoor ponies.  One wonders if Pink May’s 1911, chestnut and white colt (skewbald, which is not accepted in Dartmoor colouring’s) would be classed as a Dartmoor, I think not. However her 1913 foal Sugar Plum, had a “white hind mark on quarters,” (later described as “spots”) was at the time classed as a Dartmoor as her sire was Admiral Togo, who was Dartmoor stallion.

Pink May was not said to have a brand, I think she was at Foxhams for a considerable time, possibly purchased in 1910 and being still there in 1920. (Pink May could then have been about sixteen, but this is not very old for a Dartmoor.)

Pink May’s recorded produce are as follows :-
1911 – chestnut and white (skewbald) colt
