Lucky Star II and Diana II were sold to Miss Calmady-Hamlyn sometime in 1913.

Captain Joseph Oscar Muntz, (who was one of the judges), had the following to say ….both (Diana II and Lucky Star II were), bred by Moses Bawden of Tavistock, were daughters of the same Dartmoor pony. The second is particularly interesting as an instance of true riding type being bred from Moorland blood solely by careful selection and without a cross of Thoroughbred, Arab or Polo blood, (unless one was to consider the first entry, where Great grand dam Dot was said to be by Hereford G.S.B., (foaled in 1870) who was bay or brown and said to have been 13 hands high.)

Diana II survived the war as she produced various foals, one of the last being Dwarka’s Beauty,
in 1919. It is only to be hoped that Lucky Star II escaped as well.
